Get ready for your property tax bill, folks in North Battleford.

Passage of mill rate bylaws earlier this month has cleared the way for the City of North Battleford to issue tax notices for 2016.

They were mailed May 18 and the city has issued a news release reminding property owners payment is due by June 30. Penalties will start being applied July 1.

According to the budget adopted for 2016, the average property in North Battleford with taxable assessment of approximately $111,000 will see an increase of approximately 2.5 per cent in municipal taxes. This assumes property assessment has not changed since 2015 and excludes the frontage charge for Underground Pipe and Asphalt Replacement (UPAR).

UPAR frontage charge increased by $0.60 per frontage foot per year, which equates to an increase of $30 per year for a typical residential lot with 50 feet of frontage.

Payments can be made by cheque at City Hall or through online banking. The City also offers a tax installment payment plan divided into 12 monthly payments though direct deposit (the penalty is not applied) on the 10th day of the month or, if that date falls on a weekend, on the next banking day.

Residents interested in the plan can contact City Hall at 306-445-1700 for more information.
