Teens arrested for bike theft

Members of the North Battleford RCMP responded to 27 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 14 and 6 a.m. Thursday, May 15.

Members of the North Battleford RCMP responded to 27 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 14 and 6 a.m. Thursday, May 15.

Those included four false alarms, two traffic related occurrences, two false/nuisance 911 calls and one municipal bylaw complaint.

Wednesday

1:17 p.m. - Two-vehicle collisionat Territorial Drive and Highway 16. Minor damage sustained to both vehicles and no reported injuries. Cause remains under investigation.

5:49 p.m. - 911 call to a residence reporting an assault. Victim had minor injuries to her face and did not require medical treatment. Suspect in matter is known to victim but was not located. Assault charges currently pending.

6:39 p.m. - 14-year-old youth reported missing, last seen several days earlier. Members located subject at a residence in city a short time later and returned her home.

8:49 p.m. - Theft of a bike from Mitchell Avenue. Two suspects were located and have been charged. A 15-year-old youth will be facing charges of theft, possession of stolen property and two counts of breach of probation. He will appear in court Thursday May 15 at 9:30 a.m. and is still in custody. A second 15-year-old youth is also charged with theft and possession of stolen property, and has been released for a future court date.

9:52 p.m. - 53-year-old woman arrested in a cab for public intoxication, after apparently completely forgetting how to get back out of the cab after paying her fare. Held until sober.

Thursday

2:38 a.m. - 27-year-old man arrested for failing to comply with probation order after complaint of an unwanted, intoxicated person at a residence on 100th Street.

3:06 a.m. - Car alarm activated on Mitchell Avenue when a vehicle window was damaged. Three suspects on mountain bikes fled area and later discarded bikes which have been recovered and are also suspected of having been stolen. Investigation ongoing.

4:29 a.m. - Attempted break and enter to a vehicle on 107th Street. Members did locate two suspects who were arrested and remain in custody. A 16-year-old female youth is in custody for outstanding warrants and found to be in violation of her current release conditions. Several new charges are still pending. An 18-year-old woman was also arrested and is facing several charges, including obstruction. Investigation is ongoing.
