Council has approved a temporary access on Highway 16 to serve the access road to the area where Kramer Ltd. is building its new facility.
It will include a roadway connecting existing westbound and eastbound lanes, an access to a service road adjacent to the highway and a westbound turning bay.
The access has been designed by the town's consulting engineers, Catterall and Wright.
A permanent access has yet to be designed. The Town of Battleford and the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure are hiring a consultant to determine the future permanent access strategy and interchange location at an estimated cost of $100,000.
The study will not focus solely on the Kramer facility or the commercial area it will occupy. It will look at a bigger picture, including the Highway 4 underpass.
