Maidstone RCMP are reporting a week with 99 occurrences between May 15 and 21.
Some of the most common calls received were related to break and enter, impaired driving and suspicious persons.

May 15, RCMP was patrolling Paynton when a small car was observed to be operating in an irregular manner. The vehicle was pulled over near Main Street. Upon further investigation, a 22-year-old woman from Borden was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and released for court. Her vehicle was impounded and her license suspended pending court proceedings.
May 15, Maidstone RCMP responded to several break and enters as well as a theft of truck from Sandy Beach Regional Park and the surrounding area in the RM of Britannia. The items taken included a 2011 Ford F250 King Ranch, personal electronics (cellphones), hunting and fishing gear, alcohol, gift cards and a safe. The vehicle was also later used in a series of thefts in nearby Lloydminster.
Lloydminster RCMP recovered the vehicle after it was abandoned near 57th Street a short time later. The investigation is ongoing,
May 17, the Maidstone RCMP detachment responded to a 911 call of a semi and trailer hauling oil on fire near the intersection of Highway 3 and Highway 17 in the RM of Britannia north of Lloydminster. Britannia-Wilton Fire Dept along with RCMP attended the scene to find the trailer had sustained major damage, but the tanker remained intact and no oil or other chemicals were spilled. For public safety, Highway 3 was closed for a short duration until the fire department could contain the fire. Through the RCMP’s investigation it was determined that the fire was caused by a mechanical failure.
May 19, while on patrol in Lashburn, the Maidstone RCMP located a stolen vehicle out of Elk Point, Alta. A Dodge Ram 3500 was recovered by police and a 22-year-old man from Lloydminster, Sask., was arrested without incident and charged. Jeffery Gervais was charged with two counts of possession of stolen property section. Gervais was remanded for Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster.
Between May 15 and 21 the Maidstone RCMP issued 57 summary offence tickets for a variety of traffic offences on Township Road 504 Highway 303 near Lloydminster and Highway 21 near Maidstone as well as Highway 16.
A 19-year-old man from Lloydminster, Sask., was charged for exceeding the speed limit on Township 504 by more than 50 km/h. The fine amount totaled $460. Two other people near Maidstone were charged for failing to stop at a stop sign resulting in a fine of $230.
Three impaired drivers were arrested and charged, their vehicles impounded and their licenses suspended.
The Maidstone RCMP members say they take the safety of the travelling public seriously and continue to take part in initiatives and proactive policing to curb dangerous and distracted driving, excessive speed, intersection related offences and impaired driving..
They implore drivers to drive safe and never drink and drive.
