Thieves target sewer dumping station

Between 6 a.m. Friday, July 10 and 6 a.m. Saturday, July 11, Battlefords RCMP responded to approximately 90 calls for service. Police are seeking information into the following incidents:
Friday, July 10

- The Chamber of Commerce called advising damage to the coin/credit card-operated automated sewer dumping station for campers on Highway 40 East. This occurred sometime overnight and little if any cash would have been obtained as a result of the damage.
- Theft of wire/copper cable from the Saskatchewan Hospital grounds, reported by the Ministry of Central Services.
- Complaint of theft of van from outside a business on the 1700 block of 100th Street. The van is normally parked outside of this business and was taken sometime over night. It is described as a blue 1994 Chevy Astro van with Saskatchewan license plate LWN 519.
- Complaint of a vehicle being burnt overnight while parked at a residence on the Saulteaux First Nation. The vehicle was not reported stolen and was described as a black 1997 GMC 1500 truck.
- Complaint of theft of blow-up boat, value approximately $700, from a business on Railway Avenue.
- Complaint of a vehicle being burnt on the Red Pheasant Cree Nation. The vehicle appeared to have been abandoned and lit on fire. It was described as a single cab, older model Chev or GMC truck.
- A couple of complaints regarding quads in the river valley on the Battleford side of the river. The complaints were in relation to the all-terrain vehicles being driven in an erratic manner on walking paths and on the river bed.
Saturday, July 11

- Complaint of dangerous driving on the Sweetgrass First Nation. The vehicle was described as a light brown newer van.
The Battlefords RCMP responded to several calls of intoxicated people in public and alcohol related disturbances. Other investigations included  nine 911 Act calls,  four false alarms, one Mental Health Act, 12 traffic related occurrences, one Fire Prevention Act, one Child Welfare Act, two missing persons, four Liquor Acts, one animal call, two impaired drivers and nine disturbing the peace/municipal bylaw related occurrences.
