Between 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 4 and 6 a.m. Thursday, March 5 Battlefords RCMP responded to 36 calls for service.
There were six disturbances reported, two theft complaints, five traffic-related complaints, three minor collisions, five nuisance 911 calls and three false alarms.
Wednesday
• There were a few reports that storage lockers had been broken into across Battleford and North Battleford.
• Members responded to a complaint made at 10:09 a.m. of a domestic assault that occurred on 21st Street in Battleford. Once members arrived at the residence, the complainant denied that any assault had taken place.
• A business on Railway Avenue reported at 4:08 p.m. that three young females had shoplifted from their store. The matter is still being investigated.
• A motorist passing through North Battleford on Highway 40 around 3 p.m. reported that a duffel bag fell off her vehicle and was hoping that someone had turned it in to the RCMP, but no one had.
Thursday
• At 12:54 a.m. members responded to a residential address on Moosomin First Nation after there was a complaint that a man was swinging a machete at a young girl. No one was injured in the incident and a 42-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
• Members received a complaint from a woman at 1:39 a.m. that gave her current location at a business on Battleford Road and that she had been assaulted. She was not there when members arrived minutes later and no one at the establishment had seen or heard anything. The matter is still under investigation.
• Arrests were made after a domestic assault was reported on Poundmaker First Nation at 5:40 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
