Three people have been charged after a traffic stop in Melfort revealed the presence of drugs, which was followed up by a search warrant of a residence where more drugs were found.
At the traffic stop, conducted by Melfort RCMP Oct. 8, the police stopped 23-year-old Jesse Guest of Melfort. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license and his vehicle was then searched. During the search, several individual bags of methamphetamine and marijuana were located on his person.
Guest’s passenger, 35-year-old Brandon Fulmes of Pleasantdale, was also arrested.
Both were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine and marijuana, trafficking methamphetamine and possession of property obtained by crime. Fulmes was also charged with possession of cocaine. Both are to appear Melfort Provincial Court on Oct. 10
Melfort RCMP then prepared and executed a search warrant of Fulmes’ residence as a result of the traffic stop. A search of the residence, with the assistance of Prince Albert PDS revealed a small marijuana grow operation which led to the seizure of 12 marihuana plants.
Fifty-seven-year-old Carol Fulmes of Pleasantdale was arrested and has been charged with production of a controlled substance. She will appear in court in Melfort on Nov. 14.
Melfort RCMP say the investigation is still ongoing.
