Three vehicles reported stolen over Halloween weekend

The North Battleford RCMP detachment responded to more than 130 calls for service over the three-day period between 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31 and 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3.

The North Battleford RCMP detachment responded to more than 130 calls for service over the three-day period between 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31 and 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3.


Over the noted time period, North Battleford RCMP also made 17 arrests relating to alcohol offences. Other investigations included three reports of missing persons who were all located within the time period, three false or nuisance 911 calls, 18 reports relating to minor disturbances, 13 reports relating to minor traffic infractions, six false alarms, three minor traffic collisions, seven municipal bylaw investigations, two child welfare investigations and three Mental Health Act investigations.


Police are seeking information into the following incidents:


Friday


- A truck and trailer have been reported stolen from a compound on Thatcher Avenue sometime during the evening of Oct. 30 and early in the morning of Oct. 31. The truck is described as a red 2003 GMC Sierra with Saskatchewan licence 380 JLV, and the 20-foot flat deck trailer has the Saskatchewan licence 870 IWZ.


- Police responded to a disturbance complaint at the hospital shortly after 2 p.m. A woman alleged she was assaulted by one of the staff at location. Several witnesses advised the woman was smoking at the doors of the hospital. She was asked to leave the hospital grounds and then began to cause a scene. At one point one of the staff members is described to have placed his hand on her elbow and pointed to the street in an effort to get her to leave the property to smoke. The woman was requested to leave the premises and no charges are to be pursued as complaint was groundless.


- Report of a vehicle parked in a parking lot on the 300 block of 114th Street struck by an unknown vehicle some time in the early afternoon. Victim's vehicle is a white Ford pickup. No information known at this time about the suspect vehicle.


- Members responded to a residence on the 1500 block of 105th Street in response to a report of an altercation between two persons at the residence. One of the subjects was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant on an unrelated matter and was arrested and removed from the residence. No new charges pursued.


- A hit and run was reported from the Frontier Mall Parking lot. Shortly before 5 p.m. a suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle in a lower speed collision and fled the area.


- Police, ambulance and fire responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 15th Avenue and 100th Street. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were no longer operational. Only minor injuries were sustained and there were minor traffic disruptions while the scene was processed. The investigation into the collision is still ongoing.


- A 37-year-old man from Battleford is facing charges of impaired driving and driving while over .08 after the vehicle he was driving struck a parked vehicle on 15th Avenue near Territorial Drive East shortly before midnight. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from scene. The accused has since been released from custody and is scheduled to make his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court Nov. 17.


Saturday


- Members responded to a 911 call at a residence on 105th Street shortly after midnight reporting an intoxicated and unwanted person at the residence. A 24-year-old woman was located in the area and found to be on conditions not to consume alcohol. She was arrested and is facing one count of failing to comply with an undertaking. She has since been released from custody and will make her first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court Dec. 15.


- A grey 2000 Pontiac Grand Am with licence 085 JKQ reported stolen. Keys were lost by the operator of the vehicle and the car was stolen shortly after midnight.


- A 16-year-old youth was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000 after a call of two people fighting on the 1000 block of 109th Street at approximately 2:30 a.m. The youth is alleged to have kicked out the glass to a door during an altercation with a second youth at that location.


- Shortly before 5 a.m. members responded to a residence on the 900 block of 105th Street after a call of an intoxicated person refusing to leave when asked to. 16-year-old youth arrested and found to be in violation of a curfew and also on warrant status. 


- A vehicle parked on the 2000 block of 95th Street overnight was reported to have it's windshield damaged. A second vehicle parked on the 1400 block of 109th Street was later reported to have been entered and some items stolen.


- A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking after a residence check by members found the subject was intoxicated contrary to his release conditions. He was remanded into custody and made his first appearance in court Nov. 3.


- A report was made of some cash stolen from a residence on Douglas Avenue. The alleged theft is believed to have occurred sometime Nov. 1.


- A 1999 white Mercury Sable LS with license 361 JDE was reported stolen from the 2000 block of 101st Street between 2 and 4 p.m. Nov. 1. 


- A 33-year-old woman from North Battleford was arrested and is facing charges of impaired driving and driving over .08 after the vehicle she was operating was stopped on 100th Street at approximately 7:30 p.m. She is also facing charges of driving without a valid licence and operating an unregistered vehicle. The vehicle stop was initiated after a complaint from the public of a vehicle weaving all over the road. The accused has since been released from custody and is scheduled to make her first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court Nov. 17. 


- A vehicle window was reported damaged by what is suspected to have been a pellet gun shortly after 11 p.m. near Territorial Drive and Wearing Road. The investigation is ongoing. No suspects have been identified as of this time.


Sunday


- Several reports of damaged vehicles made. A vehicle parked on the 1800 block of 110th Street overnight was vandalized with several windows reported damaged and some property stolen. Another vehicle parked on the 1900 block of 104th Street also sustained damaged windows and had tools stolen from inside sometime overnight. A car on the 1900 block of 98th Street was also reported to have its windows smashed out. 


- Members responded to a residence on 114th Street at approximately 11 a.m. after a report of an intoxicated man refusing to leave a residence. The man was located on scene and arrested for mischief and threatened to kill the arresting members. Charges are currently pending on the male for uttering threats and mischief under $5,000. 


- Sometime shortly before noon a vehicle parked briefly on the 1500 block of 106th Street was broken into and some personal property reported stolen.


- A brown Ford Focus was the victim of a hit and run collision in a parking lot off Territorial Drive North between noon and 12:20 p.m. The victim's side door was knocked off during the incident. 


- The windshield of a vehicle was reported to have been damaged around noon while parked in a parking lot on Carlton Trail. 


- Report of a gas theft from a business on Highway 16 Bypass shortly before 1 p.m. The suspect vehicle, a dark grey four-door car, was reported to have been driven by a man.


- Shortly after 1 p.m. members responded to a report of a male pedestrian reporting to be suffering from facial injuries after being struck by a car on the 1100 block of 108th Street. The man was not co-operative with police and refused to provide any information into the alleged incident. He was transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-serious injuries.


- Sometime during the previous night, a mirror was stolen off the side of a truck while parked in a compound on the 700 block of 108th Street.


- Police arrested a 40-year-old man on the 1100 block of 100th Street shortly after 4 p.m. after a report of an assault at the location with one man in possession of brass knuckles. The man is facing one count of possession of a weapon and has since been released from custody. He will make his first appearance in North Battleford Court  Dec. 1.


- Police responded to a 911 call of an assault on the 1300 block of 103rd street shortly after 10 p.m. A 35-year-old woman was arrested on scene and has been charged with one count of assault. A 37-year-old man was also arrested and has been charged with breach of probation. Alcohol was a factor in the incident and both parties were known to each other.
