TISDALE — The third annual Rambler Rodeo [in 1988] was a sold out success as standing room only crowds packed the Tisdale RECplex arena to cheer the thrills and spills of top notch rodeo action.
As this rodeo was the first on the Canadian Cowboy Association’s agenda for 1988, both the cowboys and the stock seemed hyped for the event and the result was keen competition in every event.
Rodeo is a sport well known for its element of danger and audiences at the Rambler Rodeo saw the r danger realized on two occasions.
At the Friday night performance, the bull 3 Tom Horn broke Monte McEwan’s leg.
At the Sunday performance the bare back horse, 189 Silver Saddles reared up in the chute and pinned rider Dallas Rivet of Williams Lake B.C. The cowboy suffered some broken ribs.
Tisdale does it again
Another successful Rambler Trade Fair and Rodeo proves once more the town of Tisdale possesses two very important factors that combine to make the town a vital community.
The first component is the volunteers. The Tisdale Rambler Hockey Club is a relatively small organization but through their efforts and those of their helpers they were once again able to organize and host a show of major proportions.
The second component is the first-class facilities Tisdale can offer. Without the RECplex, a show of the size and quality of the Rambler Rodeo and Trade Fair could not be held.
Tisdale and area residents should feel very proud that their town can boost of having the combination of volunteers and facilities necessary to host major events, for they add much to the fabric of the community.
