TISDALE — The Tisdale Chamber of Commerce is trying something new for its annual awards – having the decision made through a public online poll.
Niki Harpham, the chamber’s executive director, said they’re trying to get the community more involved in chamber activities and the chamber more involved in the community.
“So far we’ve had a lot of nominations come in. They were narrowed down to three in each category,” she said. “Those have all gone out and the response on the survey has been phenomenal already.”
The eight awards that will be presented include citizen of the year, business of the year and group of the year. They will be presented at the Imprints of Success awards gala April 25 at the Golden Age Centre.
“We added a couple of new awards this year, so that opens it up a little bit,” Harpham said. “We have a junior citizen of the year award as well as an ag business of the year award, which is nice to have a few more communities and people we can get involved with.”
Those wishing to vote can do so at surveymonkey.com/r/MWTBS3D. Voting opened April 4 and will remain open until 4 p.m. April 16.
