A trial for a 29-year-old Cochin area man charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of his father in 2018 is being rescheduled.
The trial was set to run from May 19 to 27, 2020, in Battlefords Court of Queen’s Bench.
The charge against Joshua Tucker stem from May 31, 2018. According to Battlefords RCMP, they received information at about 9:30 a.m. that day that led investigators to a rural property southeast of Cochin. They found the body of Gordon Ernest Tucker, 59, at the home.
RCMP Major Crimes North, North Battleford General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section, assisted with the investigation.
Tucker changed his election on how he wants to be tried to judge alone.
The matter is now scheduled before the Battlefords Court of Queen’s Bench for June 8 to set a new trial date.
The resort village of Cochin is located about 35 kilometres north of North Battleford.
