Trial under way in noxious substance case

The trial is under way for a woman charged with administering a noxious substance to an intellectually disabled woman in her care.

The trial is under way for a woman charged with administering a noxious substance to an intellectually disabled woman in her care.

Ashley Marie Johnson is charged with both administering a noxious substance to cause bodily harm, as well as assault in the incident which was alleged to have happened at a group home in North Battleford March 26, 2011.

Johnson was working at the group home at the time. The alleged victim was a resident at the home run by Battlefords Residential Services, Inc.

The trial began Wednesday morning in Queen's Bench court in Judge Dennis Maher, and was to continue Thursday.
