A truck camper stored in a pasture is toast after being destroyed by a fire that spread to surrounding grass Thursday just north of the city.

North Battleford Fire and Emergency services responded to the call of a vehicle on fire at 3:22 p.m. The fire was blazing when the two apparatus and three personnel arrived on the scene, with about an acre of grass burning around the camper.

The fires were quickly extinguished, but Lt. Grant Delparte reports the camper was a total loss.

The fire happened three kilometers north on McMillan Road.

A minor garage fire was reported the same day at about 9:20 p.m. The blaze drew one pumper, one brush fire unit and eight firefighters to 1442 - 97th St. and kept the crew on the scene for about 30 minutes.

Minor damage to the entrance door of the garage resulted, according to Lt. Rob Campbell.

Another outing by one pumper and five fighters Friday at 1:25 a.m. turned out to be a false alarm. The response was made to 1421 - 112th St. when a smoke smell was reported.
