Twenty-five businesses, six organizations, and six individuals from all over the Humboldt region are up for eight Mark of Excellence Awards from the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce (HDCC) in 2012.
The list of nominees for the awards was released on January 27.
They are as follows:

Small Business of the Year: Diamonds of Detroit; Kemway Lanes; Muenster Powder Coating; Rural Drywall; Spotlight Sport and Corporate Wear.
Community Involvement: Canadian Tire; Causeway Natural Health; MNP; Reel Attractions Cinema and Video; Spotlight Sport and Corporate Wear.
New Business Venture: Anywhere Fitness, 107.5 Bolt FM and DiscoverHumboldt; Canalta Hotel, Humboldt; Copperclover Entertainment.
Community Merit Award: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Humboldt; Humboldt and District Community Services Inc; Humboldt and District Kinettes; JCI Humboldt; Family Services - Partners Building Hope; Watson Community Club.
Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Dawn Hayward, Ideal Wellness Clinic; Mathew Niekamp, MNM Plumbing and Heating; Larry and Patti Durand, FieldGood Agronomics, Prairie View Properties; Greg Velanoff, Canadian Tire; Shauna Ilg, Shampoo Shack; Carla Clement, Johnny's Bistro.
