Drugs seized after an arrest warrant was served on an individual who was a passenger in a vehicle parked outside the Loon Lake Hotel on Sept. 29 has resulted in charges against a man and a woman.
Loon Lake RCMP say the warrant was executed at about 4 p.m. and during the arrest and search of the man, a quantity of marijuana, methamphetamine and crack cocaine along with a small amount of cash and a cellphone were located and seized.
The female driver in the same vehicle was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Police said, during her arrest, a search of the vehicle was conducted, where more marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, psilocybin, a small amount of cash and a second cellphone were found on the floor of the driver’s compartment of the vehicle in a shopping bag. Alcohol was also located in the back seat of the car.
Forty-three-year-old Shawn Armstrong of St. Walburg and Becky Mitsuing, 32, of Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Monday.
