Two charged in connection to $35,000 theft from Unity business released on bail

Two co-accused in the theft of about $35,000 worth of stolen computer equipment from Western Wireless in Unity were released on bail.

Cody Kemick, 37, and Chantal Dubois, 40, appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court via CCTV on May 6 for bail hearings after being arrested May 2.

The two face numerous charges including possession of stolen property. Kemick was also charged with nine other counts of possession of stolen property, three counts of break and enter, one count of theft and one count of mischief for other incidents throughout central Saskatchewan. Dubois is also charged with six additional counts of possession of stolen property and break and enter for other incidents across central Saskatchewan.

Kemick and Dubois were arrested after RCMP Provincial GIS from Saskatoon, along with officers from Saskatoon, Outlook, Rosetown and Humboldt detachments executed a a search warrant at Cody Kemick’s home in Saskatoon. 

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of stolen property including three iPads, three Macbooks and an iMac that were taken from Western Wireless in Unity on April 18, 2020. 
Kemick is scheduled to appear again in Saskatoon Provincial Court on June 3 to enter a plea and elect how he wants to be tried. Dubois is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on July 22 to elect how she wants to be tried. She hasn’t entered a plea.
