Two from North Battleford are among those honoured for exemplary service achievements in Saskatchewan correctional services.
Saskatchewan Justice 2013 honourees include Tami Handley and Stephen Kmiech, both of North Battleford. They are among 40 people honored in Saskatchewan Sept. 16 by Lieutenant Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield and Corrections and Policing Minister Christine Tell.
The honours have been handed out since 1984 to recognize the hazardous conditions faced by peace officers working with offenders.
"The contributions made by each of these dedicated individuals to help keep our communities safe, and to the rehabilitation of individuals in conflict with the law, are both admirable and important," said Tell in a statement.
"Congratulations to all the recipients - they are strong role models who deserve special recognition."
