Two incidents in NB; firearms stolen

RCMP are reporting there are investigating two incidents that happened late last night. At approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 22, RCMP were called to a business on the 11000 block of Railway Avenue East in North Battleford.

RCMP are reporting there are investigating two incidents that happened late last night.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 22, RCMP were called to a business on the 11000 block of Railway Avenue East in North Battleford. According to police an individual wearing a mask and gloves broke into a side door of the business, and then proceeded to pry open a gun cabinet. Several firearms were stolen. The suspect then fled the scene in a white older-model Ford F-150 truck. 

The RCMP Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network later confirmed in an advisory that the location was Canadian Tire, and that approximately six firearms were stolen.

Later at 10:47 p.m., RCMP report they were called to a business on the 9000 block of Territorial Drive in North Battleford for an attempted break in. A male was attempting to break in to the business, but police say he was interrupted by a security guard and fled the scene. Police say the male is described as 5'7', dark hair, wearing a checkered shirt, dark pants, and had a back pack.

The investigation is continuing; it is believed the incidents are connected. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers or Battlefords RCMP.
