Two individuals save woman's life

It may have been wet out, but North Battleford RCMP still responded to more than 40 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Monday, June 23 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 24.

Among those calls were five false alarms, four false/nuisance 911 calls, four traffic related complaints and four municipal bylaw/noise complaints.

Monday

6:55 a.m. - Report of a group of people fighting on St. Laurent Drive. Subjects disbursed.

11:02 a.m. - Report of an intoxicated man aggressively panhandling on 101st Street. A 44-year-old man was arrested and is facing charges of failing to comply with probation and causing a disturbance. He has been held in custody to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court Tuesday.

12:56 p.m. - Report of intoxicated person sleeping on 102nd Street. Subject taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries likely associated to a fall.

3:09 p.m. - Report of an injured man at a residence on 111th Street. Injuries not believed serious at this time. Man injured as the result of an assault in the home. Suspect no longer at residence, investigation ongoing.

4:21 p.m. - Report of a missing youth from 107th Street. Subject located a short time later and returned.

4:58 p.m. - Property dispute between estranged couple reported. Matter mediated.

5:26 p.m. - Vehicle parked on 1000 block of 104th Street damaged sometime during previous evening.

6:07 p.m. - The quick actions of two persons are being credited in possibly saving the life of a young woman in the industrial area early in the evening. A woman was found on Hereford Street in North Battleford armed with a large, sharp piece of glass that she had apparently used to cause a severe injury to her arm. One of the witnesses disarmed the woman with a piece of wood and they were able to stem bleeding with a tourniquet until the arrival of emergency personnel. The injured woman was transported to hospital with a serious injury to her arm and is currently in stable condition.

6:17 p.m. - Report of a missing child from 107th Street. Child located a short time later at an acquaintance's home.

6:29 p.m. - Report of intoxicated man sleeping in a business on Railway Avenue East. 51-year-old man arrested and held in custody until sober.

7:09 p.m. - A 26-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman arrested and charged for assault after a report of altercation at a residence on 101st Street. Both accused have since been released from custody and will make their first appearance in provincial court July 28.

8:08 p.m. - Report of an assault that occurred earlier in the day. Victim not injured and suspect known to victim. Investigation ongoing.

8:34 p.m. - 14-year-old youth arrested after a reported break and enter in progress at a school.

8:34 p.m. - Complaint of uttering threats. Investigation continuing.

9:36 p.m. - 44-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance after complaint of intoxicated man stumbling down the middle of the highway.

9:37 p.m. - 43-year-old man arrested and facing charges of failing to comply with probation and failing to comply with an undertaking after an ill conceived attempt to steal an air compressor on 101st Street.

9:46 p.m. - 22-year-old man facing charges after providing a false name during a traffic stop on Highway 4.

9:55 p.m. - Report of an assault at a residence on 109th Street. All parties known to each other. No injuries reported and matter still under investigation.

10:03 p.m. - Loud party on 103rd Street, subject warned.

10:51 p.m. - 22-year-old man arrested and charged withtwo counts of breach of probation after a vehicle stop on 11th Avenue and subject found to be consuming alcohol.

11:46 p.m. - Members called to a residence on 108th Street, caller stating seven people had just broken into their home and were assaulting people with bars. Upon arrival there was no damage to property and no one injured and the story being provided to police changed several times.

Tuesday

12:13 a.m. - Three youth, 14, 15 and 16 arrested for possession of alcohol on 110th Street, found by patrolling members in area. Subjects taken home.

12:17 a.m. - 19-year-old man arrested on 108th Street, found in alley after report of a fight in area on conditions to not consume alcohol and out past court imposed curfew.

1:37 a.m. - Call of unwanted, intoxicated person outside a residence on 110th Street. Subject located, found to have outstanding warrants from Saskatoon, arrested and decided to fight with attending members. 19-year-old man has been charged with three counts of assaulting a police officer, two counts of resisting arrest, two counts of breach of probation and four counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He makes his first appearance on Tuesday.

4:41 a.m. - Caller contacted police concerned that two persons were on Facebook saying they were going to charge the complainant for accusing them of stuff. Caller was advised that Facebook was not how people got charged with things.
