On April 8, 2020, just after 3 p.m., Saskatoon RCMP responded to the report of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 41, approximately eight kilometers southwest of Aberdeen.
A tractor-trailer travelling north and a F-550 truck travelling south collided, causing the highway to be blocked. Visibility was poor at the time of the collision and road conditions were icy.
The two occupants of the F-550 truck were air lifted to hospital in Saskatoon. The 52-year-old male driver passed away from injuries in hospital. The 52-year-old male passenger remains in hospital with serious injuries.
The 39-year-old male driver and lone occupant of the tractor-trailer was declared deceased on scene.
Saskatoon RCMP, RCMP Collision Reconstructionist, Aberdeen Fire Department and first responders, Medavie EMS, STARS air ambulance and Saskatchewan Coroners Service all attended the scene.
Highway 41 reopened in both directions just after midnight.
The investigation is ongoing.
