Threatening to use his fists as weapons, a 31-year-old man attempted to rob a bank in North Battleford Monday.
Battlefords RCMP say the man entered a financial institution on the 1100 block of 101st Street at about 4 p.m. and demanded cash. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash before attempting to escape.
Police were alerted while the robbery was in progress and quickly surrounded the area. The man was arrested after a brief struggle when the suspect attempted to escape out a back door to the building.
The man will be appearing in North Battleford Provincial Court today at 930 a.m. facing several charges including, robbery, forcible confinement, hostage taking, and two counts of assault.
The investigation is still ongoing.
