Unwanted caller lies to police about his name

Between 6 a.m. Friday, July 17 and 6 a.m. Saturday, July 18, North Battleford RCMP responded to approximately 40 calls for service, including:

Friday, July 17

• There was a report of a theft from a residential property in Red Pheasant First Nation.

• There was a motor vehicle accident involving a deer on Highway 16 at Denholm at 4:50 p.m. The driver was not injured.

• Around 6:30 p.m. there was a complaint of an unwanted intoxicated male at a residence on the 1200 block of 111th Street. The 20-year-old man was known to the caller and he was on an undertaking with conditions not to have contact with her and not to go to her residence. He was also on conditions to abstain from alcohol. The man lied to officers about his name and was charged with obstruction as well as breaching his undertaking, and he was held in custody for court.

• There was a complaint of a disturbance on the 1100 block of 108th Street at 6:33 p.m.  The complainant’s neighbours were arguing loudly. One female in the residence was intoxicated and had outstanding warrants. She was held in cells until she was sober.

• Officers attended a residence on Moosomin First Nation after there was a complaint at 6:40 p.m. of an intoxicated woman at that address that was causing problems. The 40-year-old woman was found to be on a probation order with conditions not to consume alcohol and was charged with breaching her conditions.

• Just after 7 p.m., an officer located and stopped a vehicle traveling at excessive speeds of up to 200 km/hr. The driver was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

• Officers located an intoxicated male youth asleep on someone’s front lawn at 7:50 p.m.  He was held in custody and released to a parent when he was sober.

• Officers assisted the North Battleford Fire Department with a vehicle that was on fire on the 1900 block of 104th Street just before 8 p.m. No one was injured in the fire.

• A car was stolen from Werb Street in the evening sometime. It is a blue 1989 Pontiac Grand Am with license plate 811 JCX.

• There was a 911 call made from a cell phone at 10:42 p.m. and the caller hung up without saying anything. The GPS location of the phone was tracked to a residence on Saulteaux First Nation and officers discovered that there had been an argument between people there. The people were separated for the night and there were no further issues.

Saturday, July 18

• At 2:05 a.m. there was a theft reported on 107th Street. A 54-year-old woman was arrested and charged with theft. She was released from custody and has an upcoming court appearance.

• There was a report of a break and enter on the 1000 block of 104th Street that had occurred sometime overnight. The break and enter is still under investigation.

• A vehicle on 17th Street West in Battleford was vandalized overnight.

• There was a report of an intoxicated male and female arguing outside of a residence on Moosomin First Nation at 5:51 a.m. They were both located and arrested. The 18-year-old male was breaching the conditions of his undertaking not to have contact with the female that he was with and not to consume alcohol. The 20-year-old female was arrested because of outstanding warrants.

There were also five disturbances reported, one traffic complaint, and one nuisance 911 call.
