While there are no weather alerts in the area, the highways and roads of the area are described as “winter driving conditions,” so be cautious.
The Saskatoon Police Service has been receiving numerous calls of winter driving conditions in and around Saskatoon, including numerous semis jack knifed on the roadway on Highway 11 south near Black Strap which caused the traffic to be at a stand still.
Drivers are asked to reduce your speeds and give yourself extra time if you're planning on driving this morning.
The Highway Hotline map is showing all roads in the Battlefords and Saskatoon areas as winter driving conditions. To the northwest, several highways were not recommended for travel early this morning, including:
Highway 26 from Vawn to Turtleford;
Highway 21 from South Jct Hwy 303 to East Jct Hwy 3 and from Peck Lake to Makwa Lake Grid 699;
Highway 3 from Jct Hwy 26 to Jct Hwy 17 and from Jct Hwy 4 to Jct Hwy 26.
These areas have now been upgraded in status to "winter driving conditions."
The North Battleford area is forecast by Environment Canada to experience light snow today and a 60 per cent chance of flurries overnight and Tuesday morning, clearing in the afternoon.
