From the City of North Battleford:
The Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory (PWDA) remains in effect at this time and will remain until further assurances and water quality testing confirms the safety of the City’s drinking water supply.
The City has conducted flushing of the F.E. Holliday Water Treatment Plant and the main waterlines from the plant. Regular bacterial testing throughout the distribution system has been completed, and the results are clean showing the water to be within the drinking water standards. The City will continue conducting bacterial testing throughout the City. However, processing test results for protozoa takes time, and we have to wait for those results. When they are received they will be sent to the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency for review.
The City would like to thank residents and guests for their patience and efforts to conserve water usage. We ask residents to continue to conserve water usage, while the F.E. Holliday Water Treatment Plant is operational to ensure fire flows it is only at 60 per cent capacity.
Residents who have been placed on a PDWA, like those at the 1900 Block of 101st are reminded that they are on two PDWA's and need to be cleared of both before regular usage of water.
Daily updates will continue and we apologize for the impact upon our residents and guests in the City.
