North Battleford RCMP responded to approximately 64 calls for service between 6 a.m. Monday, June 29 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 30.
Monday
• There was a report that a vehicle window had been smashed overnight on the 1300 block of 109th Street.
• Around 8:30 a.m., someone made a complaint of an intoxicated man who was punching light posts on 101st Street. Officers located and arrested the 32-year-old man who had an undertaking with conditions not to consume alcohol. He was held in custody until he was sober and was released with a court date scheduled.
• Someone reported at 1:28 p.m. that they had left their vehicle on the side of the road near Cando the previous night because of a flat tire. When she returned to fix the tire, the vehicle had been burned.
• A motorist called at 3:22 p.m. to report a man had jumped out onto the road in front of his vehicle on Highway 40 and he had to brake heavily to avoid hitting him. Officers found the man, who was intoxicated and breaching an undertaking. He also had outstanding warrants.
• Officers attended a residence on the 800 block of 109th Street after a complaint at 3:41 p.m. of an intoxicated female who was causing problems. An 18-year-old woman was arrested for failing to comply with the alcohol restrictions on her probation order. She was released from custody when she was sober and has an upcoming court appearance.
• There was a complaint of an intoxicated driver on 22nd Street West in Battleford at 4:51 p.m. Officers located the vehicle and stopped it. The driver, a 25-year-old woman, was charged with impaired driving. A 26-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was charged with obstruction and identity fraud, as he was unco-operative with officers and gave them a false name. He was also charged with breaching the conditions of his undertaking.
• There was a report of shoplifting at a business on Railway Avenue at 6:21 p.m.
• At 6:43 p.m. there was a call from a woman who had just been assaulted at a residence on the 500 block of 102nd Street. She reported a 50-year-old man who was known to her had assaulted her with a pickle jar and wouldn’t let her leave the house. The man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement. He was held in custody and appeared in court June 30.
• Officers went to the 1100 block of 107th Street in response to reports of a fight that was in progress at that location around 7 p.m. The parties involved in the fight have been identified and one person was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
• Officers did a curfew check on a 19-year-old man close to 11 p.m. The male was not at home and therefore was breaching his probation order.
Tuesday
• There was a report of a dumpster fire on the 1500 block of 106th Street. North Battleford Fire Department was advised.
• Officers attended a residence on the 1400 block of 114th Street after someone called to say that they had found a man in their home who was unknown to them. The 22-year-old man was sitting at the table eating when officers arrived and he was arrested and charged with breaking and entering.
Officers also arrested one person for an alcohol related offence and responded to five false alarms, and one nuisance 911 call.
