Battlefords RCMP is making people aware of a rash of reported vehicle tampering in the city.

According to police, the incidents have taken place over the past several days throughout various parts of the city. Police noted that in some cases subjects gained access by breaking out windows.

Police are reminding people not to leave property inside parked vehicles overnight as this is often the vehicle being targeted by these offences.

RCMP say they will increasingly focus on evening patrols to increase visibility in selected target areas to attempt to combat the incidents.

North Battleford RCMP are asking anyone seeing suspicious persons or activities in their neighbourhoods to notify the detachment promptly, in order for police to better focus their efforts in combating the problem.

They specifically say to watch out for persons or groups of people lingering near vehicles or who appear to be "checking out" parked vehicles as they are walking down the street.

Anyone with information on these or any other criminal activity should contact North Battleford RCMP detachment at 306-446-1720 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
