The Rivers West District for Sport, Culture and Recreation has announced the 2016 Award Recipients of the Rivers West District Volunteer Recognition Awards, with recipients from the Battlefords, Meota, St. Walburg, Kindersley, Kerrobert, Marsden, Paradise Hill, Mervin and Edam.
The following individuals, groups, organizations and facility will be receiving awards for their outstanding volunteer efforts in the Rivers West District at a banquet in April:
Sport – Event – Skate Canada Sectional Championships presented to Skate Battlefords;
Sport – Team – Battle River Horse Club;
Culture – Development, Promotion and Community Achievement – St. Walburg Allied Arts Council;
Culture – Development, Promotion and Community Achievement – Meota Lakeshore Lions Club;
Culture – Artist of the Year – Rivers’ Edge Quilters, the Battlefords;
Recreation – Professional of the Year – Gary Hamilton, Kindersley;
Recreation – Facility Renovation – Marsden Library;
Recreation – New Build – Edam Community Centre;
All Round Volunteer of the Year – Heidi Hougham of Paradise Hill, Don Light of Battleford, Diane Macnab and Paulette Pavka of Mervin and Wayne Mock of Kerrobert.
The recipients will receive their awards at a banquet held in their honour at the Don Ross Centre in North Battleford, 891 - 99th St., hosted by the City of North Battleford on Wednesday, April 13.
The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. with supper, entertainment and awards presentations. Meal tickets are $15 per person and are limited. Please call as soon as possible to secure a seat. Ticket deadline is April 6.
