The 1100 block of 101st Street will be closed to traffic starting at 6 a.m. Monday as crews work to repair the water line to Speedy Cash.
The business is located at 1185 - 101st St.
Throughout the day, the road will be closed to traffic but pedestrians will be able to use the sidewalks, except in front of Speedy Cash where the sidewalk will have to be removed.
The City of North Battleford's water and sewer operations foreman, Joe Gagne, is not anticipating any need to turn off water to businesses on this block during the repairs. Businesses on that stretch of 101st Street will be able to use the water as they would under normal circumstances.
The City is, however, asking businesses to be prepared for the possibility of a water disturbance in case an issue should arise during the repairs and require the water to be turned off. Businesses are being asked to collect water in containers in anticipation of a possible water shut off.
"If you experience dirty water due to a water disturbance, please allow the flow to settle out for about an hour, then run a tap for 10 to 15 minutes to flush any dirty water out of your system," Gagne advises.
"Run your inside taps until the water runs clear and flush the toilets a couple of times to help clear any dirt from the aerator."
Should there be a need to turn the water off during the repairs, there is a possibility the City of North Battleford may be required to issue a precautionary drinking water advisory.
