Weed man won't stop at county line

Be afraid, Leafy Spurge!

With the advent of a weed management area, you can be sprayed upon, regardless of where you show your scraggly yellow bloom.

June 14, with GPS points and an aerial image as a guide, the Northwest Weed Management Area took action to demonstrate just how easy it is to perform weed control activities covering several jurisdictions.

RAJA Holdings, a local custom application company, with GPS information provided by the manager of the WMA, effected Leafy Spurge control measures in four jurisdictions: RM of Meota, RM of North Battleford, Ministry of Highways right of way and the City of North Battleford.

By paying a membership fee, The RM of North Battleford, for instance, is able to support such demonstrations. Co-operation can work. Want to know more? Contact Dave Whitehead, manager, NW Weed Management Area: 445-6849, 441-5708, dklwhitehead@sasktel.net.
