Wire stolen

Thieves have been targeting Northwest oil sites, according to Maidstone RCMP. The police report that since July 23, 12 different well sites northeast of Lloydminster have been hit.

Thieves have been targeting Northwest oil sites, according to Maidstone RCMP.


The police report that since July 23, 12 different well sites northeast of Lloydminster have been hit. Copper based ground cables from the field tanks to various buildings have been stripped and removed from the sites.


The costs associated, including materials and labour to repair and replace, is approximately $1,400 a site, or a total nearing $17 000, according to the RCMP.
