Woman charged following hit and run

Battlefords RCMP responded to 42 calls for service between 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19 and Tuesday, Oct. 20

Monday

• A white 2004 Ford F550 truck with licence 964JTK was reported stolen at 8:47 a.m. It was taken sometime over the previous day from the 2800 block of 99th Street.

• Report of a building on the 1300 block of 104th Street vandalized. Sometime over the weekend someone had spray painted a door.

• Report of a break and enter to an apartment on the 1900 block of St. Laurent Drive made shortly after 8 p.m. 

• A 41-year-old woman is facing several charges after a report of a hit and run on 13th Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. The suspect vehicle was located a short distance away and the accused was later located at her residence. The victim and passenger sustained minor injuries in the collision and their vehicle had to be towed from the scene after sustaining significant damage. The investigation is ongoing. 

• A man was found injured on Railway Avenue near 104th Street shortly after 11 p.m. by a passing motorist. The male was suffering from facial injuries sustained in a physical altercation with another man. The victim was transported to hospital and is being treated for non life threatening injuries. A suspect has been identified and is currently being sought. No charges have yet been laid.

Tuesday

• Report at 12:30 a.m. that a black 2012 Chevrolet Sonic with licence 578JSN was stolen from 700 block of 101st Street. Suspect is known to the owner.

• Report of an assault made at 2 a.m. Incident was reported to have occurred two hours earlier in the area of 16th Avenue and 107th Street. The victim and alleged suspect are known to each other and alcohol appears to have been a factor in the incident. The investigation is still ongoing.

Police also responded to two alarms, one animal call, one Mental Health Act investigation, five child welfare investigations, eight disturbance complaints, four traffic collision and three traffic complaints.
