Thursday night last week at the Chapel Gallery in North Battleford was the culminating event of a project at schools in Living Sky School Division entitled Youth Rising, a project modelled on the One Billion Rising Campaign, in which students learn about the prevalence of interpersonal violence and take a stand against it.
The event Thursday included the screening of the video Rising Together, compiled from footage taken May 2 involving students at Bready and Battleford Central School at their schools and on Main Street in Battleford. Also included in the presentation was the Families Rising video produced by Kids First Battleford, as well as the Kids Rising Art Project put on by the Battlefords Boys and Girls Club.
Project coordinator Jessica Labman addressed the audience prior to the screening.
Those in attendance got to see the art works of students from kindergarten to Grade 12 throughout the division as part of The Sky's the Limit, the student art exhibition of Living Sky School Division. Photos by John Cairns
