CARROT RIVER – Three people are running for fill the empty spot on Carrot River council. The three running for council are Dylan Borody, Scott Debienne and Joe Doerksen. Town council election is on Oct. 23 with advanced polling on Oct. 17.

If all goes according to plan, Cut Knife elementary and high school students will “attend a renovated high school” next school year.

A group raising money to replace a wing of their local seniors’ home is making an extra push to reach their goal.

Battlefords West Country Estates was before Battleford town council Sept. 17, as that project gradually comes together. The project west of Battleford and Battleford West Place, will feature 33 lots, most of which are between a half and a full acre.

TISDALE — A vehicle was vandalized on 94th Avenue. The vehicle was keyed, had its tires slashed and windows broken. “There was quite a bit of damage.” said Sgt. Daryl Andrusiak, the Tisdale RCMP's commanding officer.

Early September enrolment numbers are in for Living Sky School Division, and they’re higher than projections. Living Sky projected 5,416 students to be in the division’s schools. Enrolment on Sept. 6 was 5,543, or 127 higher than projected.

North Battleford officials had a big headache to deal with in August when hazardous material was brought in to the Waste Management Facility.

A new liquor store and pet shop is coming to Humboldt. Sobeys Liquor and PetValu are coming to Quill Centre on the west end of Humboldt. Martin Blair, West Humboldt Developments’ president, said the development was exciting.

WHITE FOX, CHOICELAND — An ATM was stolen from the White Fox branch of the Diamond North Credit Union, three nights after a similar theft was attempted at the credit union's Choiceland branch The two ATMs will be closed temporarily.

Children now have a new natural spaces playground to enjoy in North Battleford. Construction has completed on the new playground, funded by the City of North Battleford and by Battlefords Early Childhood Intervention Program.
