Two people have been charged in a drug investigation on Witchekan Lake First Nation.

Battlefords RCMP responded to 44 calls for service over the time period Tuesday April 12, 6:00 a.m. to Wednesday April 13 at 6:00 a.m., including but not limited to the following: April 12 10:52 a.m.

A veteran of the Carrot River Fire Department and a former town councillor was selected as Carrot River’s citizen of the year. Dale Debienne has served 27 years on the fire department and 20 on Carrot River council.

A date has been set for sixth annual state of the City and Town address hosted by the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16 at the Western Development Museum. It begins at 11:45 a.m.

The home of the City Kinsmen Band was prominent at North Battleford council Monday. David Dekker, representing the NB City Kinsmen Band Association, reported on extensive renovation plans for the band hall.

A pink grad dress was stolen from a Kelvington home. The home, located on the 100 block of Third Avenue West, was broken into between March 31 and April 2. The dress is worth around $550.

To meet a budget shortfall, Melfort Council is examining cuts to the Main Street program and a tourism promotion grant to the Chamber of Commerce.

After a long hockey season, the Naicam Minor Sports committee wrapped up the year with an awards banquet and dinner.
