It's a scam as old as banking itself, but RCMP Saskatchewan's "F" Division Commercial Crime Sections are warning the public of the resurgence of what is commonly referred to as the "bank inspector scam.

It's been gone for nearly two decades, but this fall, the sounds of band music can once again be heard at Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI). HCI's own band program got going on September 20, when director Kate Wickenhauser was hired to run it.

A house that was placarded under the Public Health Act is being spared demolition, at least for now. Public Health recommended the house at 1511-105th St. be demolished. Administration was planning to issue a demolition order on the property.

A firearms incident about 10 kilometers north of North Battleford has resulted in an arrest by Battlefords RCMP. A 76-year-old male from the Battlefords was later arrested without incident in connection to the case.

The third quarter crime statistics for the town of Battleford are out, and they are not good.

North Battleford RCMP are warning the public about a telephone scam currently in operation in the area.

The race to see who will be the candidate representing the Saskatchewan Party in Cut Knife-Turtleford is now in the stretch drive. The nominee will be known Oct. 29 following the second of two scheduled nomination meetings.
