With schools closed for large chunks of the past year and specific exposure to COVID-19 sending children home intermittently even when they are open, it has fallen largely to their mothers to pick up the additional child-care duties.

HUMBOLDT — Grade 9 students at Humboldt Collegiate Institute will be learning from home after the Horizon School Division was made aware of COVID-19 diagnosis. The division was made aware May 5. Learning from home begins Thursday, May 6.

MELFORT — The City of Melfort is buying multiple lots of land around the city as part of its effort to increase residential development.

Beginning tomorrow Thursday, May 6, eligibility in the provincial age-based immunization program will expand to include age 35+. It remains 18+ for the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District.

A woman whose vehicle was used during a police chase where six shots were fired at officers pursuing them was given a conditional sentence to be served in the community.

MELFORT — Melfort RCMP are looking for a man connected to a wallet theft. On May 3, someone entered a vehicle in Melfort and stole the wallet. The credit cards stolen with the wallet were then used to buy several items at several Melfort businesses.

MELFORT — Melfort’s Northern Lights Pool has reopened by online bookings, but is asking patrons to only book one session per week for the next three weeks so that everyone has a chance to use the facility.
