The Ministry of Energy and Resources posted 54 parcels for sale, of which 47 received acceptable bids, covering an area of 22,340.571 hectares.

The Estevan area generated the most financial interest, bringing in $2,747,969 for 16 leases totalling 1,684.452 hectares.

Refined has the option to acquire 100 per cent of each of the properties.

The Ministry of Energy and Resources estimates between 100-200 additional wells will be drilled in the province per year as a result of this program.

The southeast region brought in $13,795,439 for 84 leases and two exploration licences covering 9,797.237 hectares.

The provincial government says compliance with the emissions cap would cost Saskatchewan's oil and gas sector between $7-9 billion by 2030.

This was the final public offering of six for the 2023-24 fiscal year. The province has received $75.5 million in revenue.

Saskatchewan was first among Canadian provinces, and third among 17 jurisdictions in North America in the annual report.

The revenue numbers are out for Saskatchewan's latest petroleum and natural gas public offering.
