As I write the final column of the year, it strikes me how generous Tisdale residents are at this time of year.
You have the Clothesline and their angel tree, a group of volunteers collecting gifts for senior so that they don’t celebrate the season without a present, the Red Apple holding a toy drive for the North East Early Childhood Intervention Program and Santa’s helper Dan Westfield raising money to help the North East Outreach and Support Services buy presents for the children in their domestic violence shelter.
I’m quite sure, too, that I’m only scratching the surface when it comes to Christmas generosity in this town.
Let’s not forget, either, that the success of the efforts done by all of these people and groups is only because Tisdale residents go out of their way to donate to their efforts.
So let’s give thanks to all these efforts to improve our community and hope they continue once the season is over.
Merry Christmas to all our readers and have a Happy New Year.
