Dear Editor I have recently learned that city council has just recently tabled a motion related to a request by Royal Canadian Legion Branch No.

We have had sun, then cloud and a little spitting rain and a little frost. I think November is really here! The most notable thing is we have had is wind. It's still nice outside but the wind does have a wee bit of bite to it.

Dear Editor North Battleford city council received a request from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 70 here in North Battleford asking that the City waive the fees regarding costs related to a parade route needed for the provincial convention.

Disrobing took place on our street today as wind-stripped leaves from fig, oak, elm, walnut and who knows what other kinds of trees, danced from one end of Maple Avenue to the other. It was a real autumn blow down.

Writing weekly articles normally attracts my complete attention. Today, however, the annual Grey Cup supersedes all other afternoon thoughts. It's currently half time, the Riders are ahead and I'm seeing Green.

Winter is definitely here. Two days last week saw -28 C at night. I can much better handle this -9 C or -10 C at night. If we have to have winter, a little bit on the light side is OK with me. On those -28 C nights my 7.

Ed, my neighbour next door, has recently renamed me Tread-less Rev. During, the last month I have been in and out of our house in my clerical shirt.

Little goblins, ghouls, princesses, all manner of other spooks and friendly animals will be swarming the streets tonight. Keep an eye out for them as, in their excitement to gather up Halloween treats, they may not be watching out for you.

Just because pets have fur doesn't mean they're able to survive sub-zero, horribly frigid Canadian winters, people. As you can see from this issue of the Journal, there's a cat crisis that has hit Humboldt and the surrounding area.

With modern technology, one would think creating most things would be easier, quicker, faster and better. But that's not always the case. Indeed, it is often the opposite.
