Story:I hate doctor's offices. Pretty much everyone there is sick and spreading germs. Everything you touch is likely a candidate for a level four biological lab analysis. We were at the paediatrician the other day for Spencer.

The Battleford Peewee Sharks can't be captured and in turn captured the championship of their home tournament on the weekend. Saturday, the Sharks led the tournament off with a convincing 6-0 win over Tisdale.

As we move closer to Christmas everyone starts to think about the good times ahead with friends and family back home over the holidays. Although they are professional athletes, believe it or not, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are no different.

Dear Editor My hat is off to William Wardill, who wrote the commentary, "Restore balance between needs and ability to pay," in the Dec. 1 issue of the News-Optimist.

For this month's News Watch column I thought I would try to do something a little more upbeat. Among the good news stories being touted by local officials has been the strength of the overall economy.

Bouquets and many thanks to Lisa Hornung and the community youth choir for the enjoyment you provide us all. The time, and talent of the children, their parents, Lisa, Jacque and Gary are certainly appreciated. Keep up the good work.

I'm headed for Winnipeg. Commonly referred to as "Winterpeg," it's a well-deserved title for the city that often bears the brunt of Canada's harshest winters.

The CFL's Grey Cup final is over and the champions for the second year in a row are again the Montreal Alouettes. Congratulations to them, their coaching staff and supporters. The Saskatchewan Roughriders again finished second to Montreal.
