RED EARTH CREE NATION - Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes have charged a man with second-degree murder.
On the evening of June 24, Carrot River RCMP received a report of an injured individual at a residence on Red Earth Cree Nation.
Officers responded and located a man, who was declared deceased at the scene.
His death was considered suspicious in nature and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation.
As a result of the continued investigation, a man was arrested on Red Earth Cree Nation on June 24. Cecil Whitehead, 18, of Red Earth Cree Nation, is charged with one count, second-degree murder in relation to the death of 29-year-old Gerald McKay of Red Earth Cree Nation.
Whitehead is scheduled to appear in court in Carrot River on June 26.
