Update: Police operation in Prince Albert becomes death investigation

The Saskatchewan Coroners Service was called to attend the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for July 30.

PRINCE ALBERT — Update: The Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit (MCU) is investigating a death that occurred on Tuesday.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on July 29, police responded to the 1500 block of 5th Avenue East for a report of a deceased male. Police and Parkland Ambulance quickly arrived on scene and located a deceased male. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service was also called to attend the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled for July 30.

The Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate and any further information will be provided when it becomes available or upon conclusion of the investigation.

Original post: Prince Albert Police Service says officers are currently on scene conducting an ongoing investigation in the area near the 1500 block of 5th Avenue East.

A police presence currently exists and members of the public are asked to avoid the area while the investigation is conducted. PAPS say a further update will be provided when new information becomes known or upon conclusion of the investigation.
