Prince Albert police arrest high-risk offender

PRINCE ALBERT — Prince Albert Police Service says a police operation in Prince Albert’s East Hill area Tuesday evening resulted in the successful arrest of a high-risk offender who was wanted for multiple violent Criminal Code offences.

The 26-year-old man, Layne Epp, was wanted on warrants for robbery with a firearm, assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats, evading police (x2), dangerous operation of a motor vehicle (x2), obstructing justice, breach of probation (x4), and breach of a release order (x2).

On Aug. 26, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted a successful operation at a residence in the 3000 block of 5A Avenue East where the high-risk offender was arrested without further incident.

The investigation was led by the PA Police Crime Reduction Team (CRT) with the assistance of the Proactive Policing Unit (PPU), Patrol, Police and Crisis Team (PACT), Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS), PA Police and Saskatchewan RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), scribes and negotiators.

The Saskatchewan Marshals Service assisted with scene containment.
