LUCKY LAKE - Access Communications Co-operative recently announced the recipients of its 2025 scholarship programs.

Together, these scholarships amount to $27,000 in total being given out to students across Saskatchewan that have managed to stand out in their own unique ways.

In a media release, President & CEO of Access Carmela Haines said the company is committed to supporting students as a way of giving back to the province.

“We are inspired by the drive, resilience, and community spirit of this year’s recipients,” said Haines. “As a community-owned co-operative, supporting education and local talent is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back to Saskatchewan.”

This year, twenty high school students were awarded $1,000 each through the Doug Alexander Scholarship Program, which recognizes excellence in academics and community service. The program is named in honour of the late Doug Alexander, Access’s former Community Relations Manager, who was deeply committed to youth and community development.

The recipients of this year’s program include a local student from the Lake Diefenbaker regional area, Kacey Jessiman of Lucky Lake.

In addition, Access annually awards a $2,000 Film & Video Scholarship and two $1,000 Entrance Scholarships through the Fred Wagman Scholarship Program (named after Access’s first CEO), supporting students attending the University of Regina and pursuing studies in film, media, and communications.

There are also two $1,500 scholarships to students enroled in Computer Networking Technician and Telecommunications Network Technician programs at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, helping to launch careers in technology and telecommunications.
