Macklin RCMP investigate semi collision that resulted in injuries

One person sustained injuries from the collision was transported to Saskatoon by EMS.

Cut Knife Report – June 2 - 8

The Cut Knife RCMP received 83 service calls between June 2 and 8. These files included well-being checks, reports of traffic offences, mischief, assault with weapons, breach of peace, failure to comply with orders, Mental Health Act, suspicious persons, animal calls, Liquor Act, assisting other agencies, 911 Act, Firearms Act and threats.

Notable files include:

On June 3, members responded to a call regarding an intoxicated 24-year-old male, Tanner Checkosis, threatening an adult female and breaching his probation. In the process of arresting the subject, he assaulted a police officer. The individual was charged with failure to comply with their conditions and assault on a police officer and was held for court. On June 6, Checkosis pleaded guilty and received a sentence of 182 days in custody.

On June 7, members received a call about a female jumping out of a moving vehicle on Highway 674. Members located the vehicle, with the passenger in the vehicle, safe. The driver was charged with impaired driving.

On June 8, Cut Knife RCMP responded to a mischief to a motor vehicle on Little Pine First Nation. A day later, a report of vandalism to the Chief Little Pine First Nation School was made. Both incidents are believed to be related and the investigation is ongoing.

Seventeen traffic stops were made, resulting in speeding tickets, warnings, roadside suspensions, traffic collisions and impairments. Members responded to three alarms and two Mental Health Act calls.

Cut Knife RCMP did a “Work out with a Cop” again on June 13 at the Little Pine First Nation Fitness Facility.

RCMP received a complaint of assault. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a complaint of uttering threats but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Members received a complaint of fraud but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

RCMP received a complaint of theft of a debit card. This matter is still under investigation.

CN Police reported a broken railway crossing gate. Reported for information purposes.

Police are investigating a complaint of a break and enter at a business.

RCMP received a complaint of theft of a vehicle but it was unfounded.

There were also four traffic complaints and one false alarm.

Wilkie Report

RCMP received a complaint of theft. This matter is still under investigation.

Members are investigating a complaint of assault.

Police conducted a well-being check at the request of an employer.

Members acted as mediators in a dispute between a landlord and a tenant.

RCMP received a report of a vehicle collision with a deer. There were no injuries. Reported for information purposes.

A 41-year-old female from Wilkie was charged with assault on police officer and resist peace officer after members received a complaint of assault.

Members received a request from Emergency Medical Services to assist with a patient.

CN Police reported a railway crossing blocked by a train. Reported for information purposes.

There was also one traffic complaint.

Macklin Report

RCMP received a complaint of uttering threats but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in a rural area near Macklin. Members located the registered owner who moved the vehicle.

RCMP attended a semi collision near Macklin. One person sustained injuries and was transported to hospital in Saskatoon by Emergency Medical Services. This matter is still under investigation.

An individual turned in a wallet that was located on the street.

Police received a complaint of theft of fuel from a local gas station. Members contacted the subject of the complaint, who paid for the fuel. No charges were laid.

Members acted as mediators in a dispute between two adults.

There were also three false alarms and two false 911 calls.
