Summer planning starts now

Registrations and booking sites are busy with summer holidays in the planning stages.

UNITY – Even with snow on the ground, many are looking forward to the end of winter – even if it was a short one this year.

Many organizations and campgrounds are opening their registration processes and that includes the readership area.

Minor ball organizations in Unity and Wilkie have already opened registrations for the season Feb. 1, which is done solely online. Currently, there has been no announcements for Kerrobert, Macklin or Neilburg minor ball associations.

Soccer leagues and the local golf courses will also open again. Many of the outdoor swimming pools have already begun their hunt for lifeguards to work over the summer months.

For youth who are excited to attend camp, registrations are now also open. The Luseland Bible Camp and Manitou Lake Bible Camp both have online registrations, where parents can look at the various age groups and dates available.

Campers will be happy to know that April 1 is the first day to begin seasonal reservations. There is a schedule for nightly, Camp-Easy and group campsites from April 2 – 9. There have been some new features added tothe reservation system including group camping, recreation hall reservations as well as daily and weekly park entry permits can be purchased in advance online.

Parks Canada has also opened reservations for the two national parks in our province, Prince Albert National Park and  Grasslands National Park.
