Cut Knife Report – May 12 - 18

Cut Knife RCMP received 59 calls for service between May 12 to 18. These files included well-being check reports of disturbances, reports of traffic offences, mischiefs, assaults, breach of peace, failure to comply with orders, Mental Health Acts, suspicious persons, animal calls, Liquor Acts, Excise Acts, Fire Prevention Acts, Cannabis Act, 911 Act, crime prevention, Firearm Act, break and enters and assisting other agencies.

Notable files include:

A 41-year-old individual reported a suspicious vehicle on their private property. Members attended and arrested two individuals for outstanding warrants and for failing to comply.

Throughout the long weekend, members responded to multiple 911 calls regarding people being loud on a campsite at Atton’s Lake. Members issued warnings and tickets for underage alcohol consumption. Later on in the weekend, the same group of campers left piles of garbage, damaged chairs and propane tanks littering the campsite and beach area, resulting in more than 30 tickets being issued.

On May 17, members assisted the Manitou Lake Fire & Rescue after a vehicle collision with a moose. Minor injuries were reported, and the vehicle was towed.

On May 24, while on patrol, members observed a male walking in a field behind a residential house with a long-barreled shotgun, trying to hunt ducks. Tickets and summons were issued.

Members responded to a call regarding a suspicious black F150 in a yard in the Hillsdale Rural Municipality. The vehicle pulled into the yard, stating they were almost out of gas and they had been up for hours. Directions were given to the card lock and the vehicle left, but drove into the house on departure, causing minor damage. Matter still under investigation.

This week was Canada Road Safety Week and National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day on May 17. Forty-two traffic stops were made, resulting in speeding tickets, warnings, roadside suspensions and four impaired drivers. Members responded to two alarm calls.

The Cut Knife RCMP attended the bike rodeo in Neilburg.

A member also assisted with changing a tire for a stranded motorist.

Unity Report - May 13 - 19

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of complaint.

CP Police reported a train blocking the railway crossing in a rural area near Unity. Reported for information purposes.

Members received a complaint of fraud, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

A 72-hour roadside suspension was issued during a traffic stop.

Members acted as mediators in a child custody dispute.

Police received a complaint of theft of fuel from a local gas station. The subject of complaint returned to pay for the fuel. No charges were laid.

A 37-year-old male from Unity was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle during a traffic stop.

Members received a request to keep the peace while an individual attended a residence to retrieve personal property.

Members acted as mediators in a family dispute.

There were also two traffic complaints and two false 911 calls.

Wilkie Report

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members transported the subject of complaint to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.

Police received a complaint of trespassing. Members spoke to the subject of complaint and issued a verbal warning.

Members received a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was not stolen and was not a roadway hazard. No further action was required.

RCMP received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members spoke to the subject of complaint.

Members received a request from the Saskatoon Police Service to execute an arrest warrant.

A 72-hour roadside suspension was issued during a traffic stop.

Macklin Report

RCMP received a complaint of a dog barking. Members patrolled but could not locate the animal.

Members received a request to assist another RCMP Detachment in locating a missing person.

Police received a complaint of theft of fuel from a local gas station. This matter is still under investigation.

There was also one false 911 call and one traffic complaint.
