REGINA – The Saskatchewan Marshals Service (SMS) employee who was being investigated by the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) has resigned, confirmed the service.
A complaint had been received against an employee of the SMS earlier this year.
“The member in question chose to voluntarily end their employment with the SMS,” said Cara Burrows, spokesperson for the SMS, in an email Friday.
“No further details will be provided due to privacy and personnel matters,” she added.
The PCC report is complete and today, Saskatchewan NDP Shadow Minister for Justice Nicole Sarauer is calling on Sask. Party Minister responsible for the Marshals Service, Tim McLeod, to release the report.
The SMS is the province's new force. With jurisdiction throughout Saskatchewan, they support RCMP, First Nations and municipal police services.
