SASKATOON - Jonathon Munroe’s day was off to a great start after he scratched his way to $100,000 on his Crossword Moneybag Multiplier ticket.

Munroe bought his $5 instant ticket at the Night Owl Grocery and Confectionary – located at 9-331 Fairlight Dr. in Saskatoon – bright and early on Nov. 24. He didn’t waste any time scratching his ticket and knew he had a winner right away.

"I saw I had eight words, I thought it was going to win $1,000," the Saskatoon resident said. As he continued scratching, he uncovered another two words, bringing it to the maximum of 10 words.

"I didn't realize it was $100,000 until I checked it on the self-checker," he explained. “I couldn't believe it!"

Munroe said the reality of his windfall didn't sink in until he was on his way to the prize office.

"It just felt surreal," he said. "It was hard to take in."
