REGINA — The Regina Rowing Club (RRC) is hosting its 46th annual Western Canada Sprints on Wascana Lake on Saturday, June 14.
More than 100 athletes from rowing clubs in Victoria, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Yorkton, Lloydminster and Kenora will travel to Regina on Saturday to compete across 26 sprint events. This event is a sanctioned regatta under the national sports organization Rowing Canada Aviron.
This long-standing event offers early-season racing on a fully buoyed 1,000-meter course for junior, senior and master’s level athletes. The regatta format will follow the traditional head-to-head heats in the morning, followed by head-to-head finals in the afternoon.

The starting line is located on the north end of the lake and the finish line is at the south end and can be viewed from Pine Island. Boats will dock on and off the water near the boathouses (3000 Wascana Dr.) and then queue on the water before races begin near the Albert Memorial Bridge.
